If you want to play songs right away and not get stuck in theory class, check out Piano Suite Premier our #2 ranked piano lesson software and "TopTenREVIEWS Silver Award" winner. Although this program is one of the newest on the market, it can get you confidently gliding over the keys faster than any other program.

Piano Suite Premier is an extremely competent program, but its lacks a glossary, video instruction and does not offer training in arpeggios and these missing features kept it from reaching the #1 spot.

Ease of Use:  

Piano Suite Premier includes multiple search tools to help you quickly and efficiently locate a song. Lessons present material in an easy-to-grasp format and are color-coded for difficulty, so it's always easy to find the right lesson for your skill level. The ability to increase or decrease the size of the notes on the sheet music really comes in handy.

Feature Set:  

The song database in Piano Suite Premier is the largest and most diverse of any of the programs we reviewed; even modern rock music is included. Many of the songs include lyrics, and some songs even have recordings of professional singers performing them. You can adjust the background and accompaniment music or turn it off entirely.

Ease of Installation:  

We did not run into any problems while installing Piano Suite Premier.

Lesson Coverage:  

Piano Suite Premier covers most of the important topics for playing piano, but only skims the surface and does not go into as much detail as we would like. Unfortunately, it does not offer video instruction and the lessons are too short to be as effective as other programs.

Practice Options:  

Piano Suite Premier includes the ability to write your own music and print the sheet music. It also comes with eight helpful, interactive games that train you to master your music-reading and ear-training skills. Piano Suite Premier enables you to practice notes and rhythm with each hand separately or together.

Help/Support:  

Piano Suite Premier does not have an in-game help section, but it does have a FAQs section. A manual is included; email and phone support information is accessible on the manufacturer's homepage.

Summary:  

Piano Suite Premier is the best product for students that want to learn to play music quickly or write their own songs and record them with guitar, drum or piano accompaniments. It includes a wide variety of songs including pop, classical, jazz, folk and blues, to keep players of different tastes interested and supports eight games.
